Head Start & Early Head Start is a nationwide, federally funded program that promotes school readiness by enhancing the social, physical, & cognitive development of your child. Head Start & Early Head Start are provided at no cost to you, however, space is limited. We serve children ages 0-5 years old in Volusia, Sumter, and Hernando Counties! Our Mission

To provide, comprehensive early childhood services that enhance the lives of children and families to collaboratively foster school readiness and self-sufficiency.

Our Programs

Our programs promote school readiness of children ages birth to five from low-income families by supporting the development of the whole child. Our Head Start/Early Head Start programs are based in centers and schools. We believe in the support of children’s growth and development in a positive learning environment through a variety of services, which include early learning, health, and family well-being through opportunities such as:

• Frequent medical screenings, immunizations and dental services
• Healthy nutritional assistance (including free meals & formula)
• Referral services for a range of individual child and family needs
• Opportunities for parents to participate in school decision making
• Diapering & Toilet Training (including free diapers)
