Reopening Information

Volusia Reopening Dates and Information


  • All classrooms cleared to re-open tomorrow


    • Thank you for your understanding in regards to the closing of your child’s classroom. Our facilities team has been busily assessing your child's center/classroom and has determined that we will re-open tomorrow, Wednesday 10/4/22. Tomorrow is also Early Release so please plan to pick up your child on time. In the event you have questions please contact your Family Advocate. 


  • EVEC


    • This message comes to you with a heavy heart. EVEC Head Start/Early Head Start will not be able to reopen. The damage from the flooding is catastrophic and unsafe for staff and children to return.  Your child's safety is our first priority. Our team is working to reopen the classrooms at a different location in Daytona. Your Family Advocate will be contacting you with the new location and re-open date. Your child will not return to school tomorrow. 


  • Holly Hill


    • We apologize for the short notice, however in an abundance  of caution, Holly Hill will be closed tomorrow through Friday due to flooding in the area. Our facilities team is assessing the water levels daily and hope to give the all clear soon. Your child's safety is our first priority. In the event you have questions please contact me at 386-527-0588.


  • Hope Place 11-1


    • We apologize for the short notice, however in an abundance  of caution Hope Place 11-1 will be closed tomorrow through Friday due to teacher coverage. Your child's safety is our first priority. In the event you  have questions please call 1-888-227-0010


  • Malloy


    • We apologize for the short notice, however in an abundance  of caution, Malloy Head Start/Early Head Start will be closed tomorrow, due to a boil water notice in the area. MFCS Facilities team has given the all clear for reopening the program, however the city of DeLeon Springs has not .Your child's safety is our first priority. As soon as the city gives us the "all clear" we will reopen the center.  In the event you  have questions please call your Family Advocate. 


  • Port Orange CR2


    • This message comes to you with a heavy heart. Port Orange Head Start will not be able to reopen. The damage from the flooding is catastrophic and unsafe for staff and children to return.  Your child's safety is our first priority. Our team is working to reopen the classrooms at a different location in the  Daytona area. Your Family Advocate will be contacting you with the new location and re-open date. Your child will not return to school tomorrow. 


  • Port Orange Early Head Start


    • We apologize for the short notice, however in an abundance  of caution, Port Orange Early Head Start will be closed tomorrow through Friday due to flooding on the property. MFCS Facilities team is assessing the water level daily to determine when we can reopen the building. Your child's safety is our first priority. In the event you have questions please contact your Family Advocate.


  • Westside


    • We apologize for the short notice, however in an abundance  of caution, Westside Head Start will be closed tomorrow through Friday due to teacher coverage. Your child's safety is our first priority. In the event you  have questions please call 1-888-227-0010.
